Fresh off of listing a slickly updated midcentury residence in the Bird Streets, Friends star Matthew Perry has purchased a $20 million penthouse unit in exclusive Century City condo tower The Century, as the LA Times reports.

In an intriguing twist of fate, Perry may be moving into the building as Friends co-creator David Crane moves out. Crane and Mad About You producer Jeffrey Klarik were the first to buy in the Robert A. M. Stern-designed building and listed their swanky 1930s-inspired unit in October (though it has since been de-listed).

Perry's new unit occupies an entire floor of the building and offers panoramic views across the LA area. At 9,318 square feet, the condo is nearly four times the size of an average U.S. home, with an enormous master suite and a living room with two fireplaces.

The penthouse has four bedrooms and seven and a quarter baths, in addition to an expansive kitchen and a separate dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Building amenities include a four-acre garden, lap pool, fitness center, media room, wine storage facility, and plenty of other features. All those perks don't come cheap though; HOA dues are an astonishing $7,320 per month.

Perry did manage to purchase the unit at a significant discount. It was originally listed for $26.5 million.
