50 units and commercial space on Wilshire Boulevard

A new apartment building could soon replace a cluster of aging commercial buildings in Westlake.

Plans filed with the city Friday call for a six-story mixed use project with 50 units of housing and 5,730 square feet of commercial space. The building would be constructed atop a partly underground parking garage.

A similar development was floated at the project site several years ago, but those plans appear to have been updated with slightly fewer units and more commercial space.

Located at 1324 West Wilshire Boulevard, close to the large, glassy Good Samaritan Medical Pavillion, the project is set to rise in what’s been a very busy area lately.

Just a block west is the recently built Valencia complex, with 218 apartments and ground-floor commercial space. The newly completed Seven West apartments, featuring 87 units and retail, are a block to the south.
