A perfect opportunity to build your own fortress

Looking for a project? Why not snatch up a bit of hillside land and construct your very own contemporary lair?

That’s the pitch behind this offering on the market in Studio City. Buyers will get a little under a half-acre of land near Coldwater Canyon, along with blueprints for a glassy fortress.

Per the listing, plans for the three-bedroom eco-friendly home were designed by local firm Arshia Architects. As permit records show, they’re under review by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.

The plans call for a roughly 4,000-square-foot home encased in a sloping frame that may help to keep it in place on the steep hillside. In addition to the three bedrooms, it will include three-and-a-half bathrooms and a garage. The walls of windows look out across the surrounding hills and offer a good view of the long pool deck.

The proposed home’s design looks a bit like that of a Bond villain’s hideout, and an alternate listing description encourages prospective buyers to “awaken” their “inner Dr. Evil.”
