Once home to the son of President Hoover

This Sierra Madre estate was previously owned by the son of the 31st President of the United States, Herbert Hoover. Naturally, the president and Mrs. Hoover visited numerous times. (Hoover is often considered to be among the worst presidents in history.)

The seven-bedroom house sits on 1.15 acres north of the Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena. Built in 1928, it comes with colored glass windows, high ceilings with exposed beams, a large fireplace, and a wood-paneled library.

In 1932, when the Hoover family moved into the house, they added a playroom that can be accessed via either a fun slide or boring stairs.

The rear yard holds a guest house that measures just under 780 square feet and comes with its own living room and a full kitchen. There’s also a covered patio area that overlooks a photogenic pool.

The property is listed for $3.75 million.
