Near Fletcher and the 365 by Whole Foods

Department of City Planning

A new five-story residential building could be headed for Glendale Boulevard near Fletcher and the 365 by Whole Foods market, and city documents offer a first look at the project.

Developer UB 2468 Glendale is proposing to knock down commercial buildings at 2468 Glendale to erect 50 apartments—20 studio apartments and 30 one-bedrooms. Five of the units will be for tenants with very low incomes.

The building will also include along with a community room and two floors of underground parking with spaces for 45 vehicles.

The city planning commission’s was scheduled to review the plans April 20, but the developer requested an extension because of neighborhood pushback.

Markus Mentzer, a member of a neighborhood group called Smart Growth for Silverlake, which opposes to the project, tells Curbed that the building is too big (the group argues there aren’t any five-story buildings nearby) and lacks enough parking for a project of this size.
