Right across the street from a strip mall in Westlake, and a few blocks southwest of MacArthur Park, a new mixed-use project with 144 apartments is planned for the corner of Eighth and Park View streets.
New renderings for the development appear in a recent filing with the department of city planning. The 144-unit building is expected to have a mix of studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments, 12 of which will be restricted to very low-income households. The project will also have about 4,600 square feet of street-level retail space. The renderings show the six-story building as having intermittent balconies and a boxy look.
Pacific Parkview LLC is listed as the applicant on the filing. Urbanize LA notes that though the office building that previously occupied the site has been razed, a timeline hasn’t been announced for the development.
Just northwest of this site, close to Lafayette Park, corporate landlord Jamison Services is working on a 31-story residential tower on Wilshire that will bring 644 apartments.
