The Arts District already has a lot of creative office space coming its way, and it’s about to gain even more. A new 11-story office project has been proposed for a site next to the A+D Museum on Fourth Street and Hewitt.
Plans filed with the city Monday show that project will contain approximately 255,000 square feet of office space and about 15,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.
The developer for the project is not named, but the property includes the building that houses the A+D museum, which was owned by Legendary Development when the museum took up residence in the space. Property records show that property has not changed hands since then.
The Arts District has a handful of notable office buildings in the works. The Ford Factory is being converted into creative offices, and the new-build project proposed next to Soho Warehouse will bring sleek new offices as part of a stylish new complex.
