The long-in-the-works La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood is scheduled to open its door this summer, the project’s executive architect, Urban Architecture Lab, tells Curbed.
The 105-room hotel is located on Melrose Avenue and La Peer Drive, within the boundaries of WeHo’s Design District. In addition to guest rooms, the hotel will offer a pool, gym, and a rooftop deck spanning 4,000 square feet. The hotel’s design will be a mix of and Art Deco-inspired exterior and a contemporary interior (leather interior walls will make an appearance).
Renderings of the interior spaces show what looks a lot like an upscale spa, with plenty of neutral, earthy tones and a liberal dose of accent plants.
The design architect for the project is Moule & Polyzoides. Interiors will be done by LA-based architect Gulla Jónsdóttir.
Kimpton will operate the hotel and is also one of the developers, along with KHP Capital Partners and AJ Khair. Kimpton is also gearing up for the opening of a hotel it will operate in Hollywood this year. The project, formerly know as the Hotel Argyle, appears to be going by The Everly Hotel now.
At least two other high-profile hotels are slated for West Hollywood—one that will incorporate the Barney’s Beanery and the James Hotel that will be part of a large new development at La Cienega and Sunset boulevards.
