Britney Spears has finally managed to jettison a Thousand Oaks megamansion that first came on the market back in April. The pop star was evidently no longer in need of the pad after settling into her new Westlake Village compound in 2015.
As the Los Angeles Times reports, Spears ended up getting $7 million for the home, which she purchased five years ago for $6,744,500, according to Variety. Built in 2010, the sprawling Spanish-style home measures 8,500 square feet and and lies within the gates of the Sherwood Country Club in the Lake Sherwood area of Thousand Oaks (Pete Sampras is a former neighbor).
Features include cavernous communal rooms leading off into separate wings where the five bedrooms can be found. Offering plenty of indoor-outdoor access, the home opens up to covered outdoor patios, a barbecue area and bar, and a pool with streaming fountains.
The house came to market with an asking price of $8.995 million, but that figure came down to $7.495 million, before the home eventually sold for nearly .5 million under that.
That’s only slightly less than what Spears paid for her new place, which is even larger and includes a library, elevator, tennis court, and three-hole golf course. Built in an enclave developed by Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis (who else?), the home also comes with HOA dues of $1,836 per month.
