Apartments in Sherman Oaks, Fairfax, Culver City, and beyond

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. We've found five listings within $100 of today's price: $1,600.

↑ Close to the 405 and the 101 freeways, this Sherman Oaks one-bedroom offers gated parking, granite counters in the separate kitchen (refrigerator included), and a communal pool. Rent is $1,650.

↑ By Western and Third Street, this one-bedroom apartment in Koreatown comes with assigned parking, wood floors, a dishwasher, and a cat-friendly policy, though it does charge a monthly pet fee. (Pictures here are of a similar unit in the building.) The complex has on-site laundry, too. Rent is $1,695.

↑ This little studio apartment in Culver City, just a block away from the hub of neighborhood’s downtown area, has a “large, separate kitchen” with no fridge or stove, and on-site laundry. “ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ALLOWED,” unfortunately. Rent is $1,695.

↑ A block away from the Grove, this one-bedroom in a vintage Fairfax building has hardwood floors and decorative tile. There is not a full kitchen, just a kitchenette, but the apartment does advertise a fridge and a stove. The complex also has laundry facilities on-site. Rent is $1,595.

↑ Located on the lower level of an apartment complex in Sawtelle, about a block south of the Veteran’s Administration, this apartment has laminate wood floors, onsite laundry, and ample closet space in its lone bedroom. The apartment complex layout, with a little grassy ribbon between the rows of units, is charming. Rent is $1,695.
