Dodgers star Kenley Jansen tosses out $6.5M for mansion in Palos Verdes Estates

Just a few short months after helping the Dodgers to their first World Series appearance in 29 years (and then losing a heartbreaking Game 7, but we’ll get over it), pitcher Kenley Jansen has purchased a new Los Angeles-area home.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Jansen, who signed a five-year contract extension with the Dodgers last year, paid $6.5 million for the Spanish-style mansion, perched on a hill in Palos Verdes Estates

Jansen’s new residence isn’t terribly close to Dodger Stadium (it’s about a 30-mile drive), but it boasts views rivaling those found in Chavez Ravine. Huge windows and French doors throughout the home offer sight lines extending to the ocean.

The house has five bedrooms and six bathrooms spread across just under 7,000 square feet of living space. The interiors are lavishly appointed, with coffered ceilings, chandeliers, crown moldings, and an impressive entry hall and master staircase.

The three-story home sits on a half-acre lot with a swimming pool, spa, sauna, outdoor barbecue area and bar, and a neatly landscaped backyard.

Other amenities include a media room, a wine cellar, an attached three-car garage, and a master suite with its own closet and private balcony.

Jansen managed to score a nice discount on the 2005-built home; when it hit the market in July, it carried a $7.2 million price tag.
