1930s Storybook with Tudor touches in Shadow Hills seeks $700K

The living room is a gem

Tucked away in the San Fernando Valley’s Shadow Hills neighborhood, this Storybook-style house with Tudor touches sits on a lot measuring over a half acre.

The house was built with two bedrooms and bathrooms, but was later expanded to its current five-bedroom, three-bathroom layout.

Though some parts of the house are probably in need of some aesthetic updates, there are some timeless features here too. The sunken living room features a vaulted, beamed ceiling, period windows, a fireplace, and, under the stained glass window, a bay window seat.

The house holds a dining room, family room and kitchen, which still contains some retro-looking but “well-maintained knotty pine cabinetry,” like in a cabin in the woods.

Next to the house, there’s large flat area, “once the corral for horses,” a nod to the property’s equestrian past. Farther into the property, there’s also a paved patio and a kidney-shaped pool.

The property is listed for $699,900.
