Actor, director, and screenwriter James Franco has found a buyer for his Silver Lake duplex after just a couple of months on the market, the Los Angeles Times reports. The property sold for $1.35 million—$401,000 over its $949,000 list price, and nearly double what he paid for the dwelling.

The Spanish-style property dates back to 1923, when it was rumored to have been commissioned as a vacation home by early Hollywood filmmaker D.W. Griffith (best known for his “disgustingly racist yet titanically originalBirth of a Nation).

The house holds many vintage features—arched doorways, built-ins, and large casement windows—despite some obvious upgrades. The listing shows off the bright living spaces and the multiple outdoor areas in the space between the two units.

Franco bought the place from Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant in 2012, paying $775,000. About a year later, neighbors emailed Curbed to complain that the actor was disrupting the neighborhood by using the property as a makeshift production studio and having regular film shoots on site.
