About 800 feet from the downtown Burbank Metrolink station, a new project from LaTerra Development could bring 542 apartments, a 300-room hotel, and retail storefronts to a long-vacant, roughly seven-acre parcel. Urbanize LA spotted an up-to-date fly-through video for the project that offers a good tour of the proposed mixed-user.
As seen in the short video, the development—now called LaTerra Select Burbank, not The Line at Burbank—features seven- and eight-story buildings holding 542 apartments and their amenities, plus ground-floor retail storefronts. The property would also hold a 15-story tower with a 317-room hotel and eateries inside.
The project would also include a 27,000-square-foot public park on a two-acre city-owned parcel next to the mixed-user, LaTerra rep Barbara Casey tells Curbed.
The Burbank complex is expected to go before City Council in late 2018, with construction expected to start mid-2019, Casey says.
The project is being designed by Urban Architecture Lab. It sits not far from another, smaller mixed-use project on Lake Street and Olive Avenue.
In addition to this development at 777 North Front Street, LaTerra is planning a residential project on the site of the old Temple Community Hospital.
