Construction on a 230-unit apartment building in the Marina Arts District is now underway, developer California Landmark Group announced today.
Called G8, the Marina del Rey-adjacent complex (officially in the Del Rey neighborhood) will hold a collection of singles as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 550 to 1,500 square feet.
The buildings will offer more than 15,000 square feet of amenities for residents, including a pocket park, three courtyards with pools, a gym, and a rooftop deck.
The apartments are geared toward “millennials and young professionals who want to be near the beach” and work in well-paying Silicon Beach tech jobs, CLG founder Ken Kahan said in a statement. Kahan told the Los Angeles Times he expects one-bedroom apartments to start at about $3,000 a month.

Construction of G8 is expected to be complete in late 2019. California Landmark has developed six other projects in the formerly industrial Marina Arts District since 2006, but G8 is the biggest complex to date.
