Unlike fellow Case Study architects such as A. Quincy Jones or Buff, Straub & Hensman, Raphael Soriano wasn’t all that prolific, erecting approximately 50 buildings during his three-decades-long career. Of those 50 structures, only about a dozen remain, including the J.A. Meyers Residence in Silver Lake, which has just become available for rent.

Built in 1938, the International Modern-style home appears in Gebhard & Winter’s Architectural Guidebook to Los Angeles as well as Barbara Bestor’s Bohemian Modern.

Measuring 1,532 square feet, the two-bedroom, two-bath home features hardwood and linoleum floors, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and a rooftop terrace with city and mountain views. According to Bohemian Modern, the home has been retrofitted with a kickass vintage steel kitchen set that had been awarded as a prize on The Price is Right.

On a 5,000-square-foot lot, it’s available furnished or empty for $6,800 per month.
