Flipped 1920s cottage in Pasadena asking $599k

The remodeled house has high ceilings and its original front door

Dating back to the 1920s, this remodeled three-bedroom has a definitively cabin-like feel from the outside, but inside it’s been fully updated. The house still has its original front door and high ceilings with exposed beams.

The kitchen is anything but original, furnished with custom cabinets, Carrarra marble counters, and a backsplash of marble mosaic. Other modern comforts in the house include a smart NEST thermostat, central air conditioning and heating, new light fixtures and hardwood floors, and a new roof. The house’s only has one bathroom, but that bathroom has been remodeled to include marble and dual sinks.

The 1,074-square-foot house sits on a lot that measures just under 7,000 square feet. The yard is mostly grass, but there’s also what appears to be a garage converted for use as a studio or workshop.

The house is located east of the Rose Bowl, on the other side of the 210 Freeway, and last sold in April of this year for $370,000. Its listing from the time features no pictures, but for that price, it’s fair to guess that it probably did not have a marble-filled kitchen and a new roof. It’s now asking $599,000.
