The hillside house has five bedrooms and multiple terraces

British author E.L. James rose to fame after the incredible success of what the Los Angeles Times referred to as a "badly written, unapologetically graphic trilogy of novels" that began with Fifty Shades of Grey. She is certainly having fun with all the money that comes from selling more than 100 million book copies worldwide. James recently purchased a newly built house in the Hollywood Hills for $7.25 million, Trulia reports.

The hillside house measures 5,616 square feet and holds five bedrooms and seven bathrooms; the interior design was by Matthew Finlason and Emily Altoon and the art was curated by Renee Warren. The residence offers a mix of stone and wood floors, high-end appliances, and a walk-in wine storage room. The bedrooms are all suites, but only the master bedroom features floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto private outdoor space. The house features multiple terraces and a back patio overlooking a pool and spa.

James and her husband mainly reside in their £1.13-million English estate.
