Handsome and historic Silver Lake Craftsman asking $1.3M

New, 5 comments

A rare example of an Asian-influenced Craftsman

One of the oldest surviving homes in Silver Lake, Maltman Avenue’s August House was built in 1913. Awarded Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument status in 2000, the century-old residence is a rare example of an Asian-influenced Craftsman, and rarer still for having been altered very little over the years.

Per its listing, the four-bedroom, two-bath bungalow’s features include a wrap-around porch, beamed living/dining room ceilings, original wood details, stained glass accents, a built-in leaded-glass dining room buffet, hardwood floors, claw foot tubs, an updated kitchen, and a two-story single garage. On a 5,586-square-foot lot with mature trees, it’s asking $1.275 million. Open house is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
