A Los Angeles-based developer wants to knock down a dilapidated building on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood to erect a five-story apartment building with six retail spots on the ground floor.
The firm, A.J. Khair Development & Construction, filed plans June 29 for the 40-unit project, which, at 6330 West Sunset Boulevard—between Vine Street and Highland Avenue—would include two levels of underground parking. Renderings on its website show a boxy, modern building with lots of windows.
Khair also built the now-shuttered Supperclub Los Angeles, and is working on plans for two hotels, one at 1925 Wilcox Avenue, off Franklin Avenue, in Hollywood, and the other at 8240 Sunset, on the east end of the Sunset Strip.
Its newest project would be close to the CNN tower, Amoeba Music, and ArcLight Cinemas.
