From programmed shows to contraband rockets fired from backyards and rooftops, fireworks lit up the sky across Los Angeles last night—and briefly engulfed Frogtown in flames. Photographer Chris Pritchard managed to capture the festivities in a truly impressive time-lapse video that shows bombs bursting in air across much of Southern California.
Pritchard says the video was taken close to Mount Wilson, where views stretch across most of the LA Basin. The footage was taken as video, then sped up for a time-lapse effect. Shows seen in the video include those at the Rose Bowl, Grand Park, and Dodger Stadium. It all makes for a truly unique view of the city amid the most colorful skies of the year.
