Apartments in Santa Monica, Hollywood Hills, Silver Lake, Glendale, and Mid-Wilshire

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. Our friends at Zumper have helped us out with five listings within $100 of today's price: $1,950.

↑ Just off Franklin and not far from the Hollywood Bowl, this one-bedroom apartment in Hollywood Heights features hardwood floors, one parking space, and comes with appliances (fridge, stove). The first-floor unit in an "upscale/gated property" rents for $1,995.

↑ This Silver Lake one-bedroom is less than a half-mile away from the Trader Joe’s and Gelsons. The apartment has hardwood floors, a bathroom skylight, and retro tile (original!), and for an extra $75 a month, there’s a garage for parking. The small apartment building has a laundry room on-site, too. Rent is $1,875.

↑ This Glendale apartment is just across the 2 Freeway from Eagle Rock, and sits south of Colorado. The two-bedroom condo has one bathroom, a dining area, and a compact kitchen in its 842 square feet. The unit comes with two carport parking spots. Rent is $2,000.

↑ Not far from Santa Monica College and an Expo Line stop, this one-bedroom in Santa Monica has wood floors and comes with appliances included. The kitchen has nice counters and newer-looking cabinets. Rent is $1,850.

↑ Details are slim on this pet-friendly one-bedroom in Mid-Wilshire, near the Grove, but there appears to be a fireplace, a balcony, stainless steel appliances, and, according to the listing, in-unit laundry. It’s worth noting, too, that this apartment’s renting for 20 percent cheaper than the median one-bedroom in the neighborhood. Rent is $1,995.
