Today is the #LAInstaFling. Twelve Los Angeles museums have swapped accounts, sharing themes, photos, and stories from places around the city. • This is the Los Angeles @MuseumofTolerance, we'll be sharing their stories today. • The Museum is the educational arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the a global human rights organization. The Museum challenges visitors to confront bigotry and racism, and to understand the Holocaust in both historic and contemporary contexts. • The museum focuses less on the horrors of the Holocaust and more on how it could have been allowed to happen—and on making visitors aware of their own role and power in creating a just, tolerant society. • "Freedom is not a gift from heaven," Simon Wiesenthal wrote. Pro tip—get your name on the list for this installation as soon as you enter the museum, as time slots fill up quickly.
