Hollywood Hills ‘Shangri-La’ Robbed by the 'Bling Ring' Asks $1.7M

$130,000 worth of Lindsay Lohan’s things were snatched from this tranquil retreat in 2009

The listing for this 1927 Spanish-style home in the Hollywood Hills describes it as a "private Shangri-La of luxe sophistication." Of course, it’s best known as the home Lindsay Lohan was living in, when, in 2009, the group of affluent teenagers known as the Bling Ring broke in and nabbed $130,000 worth of clothing and jewelry. Variety reports that Days of Our Lives star Galen Gering is the seller of the house, which he purchased for $754,500 in 2000.

Celebrity connections aside, the house is impressive in its own right. Featuring hardwood floors and colorful tile work throughout, the three bedroom home is situated on an 8,051 square-foot lot with plenty of lush foliage. The master suite features a large, luxurious bathroom, and opens to a hot tub outside. A large deck and "Bohemian Pole house" seem like great places to enjoy the scenery. The listing suggests using the latter structure for yoga and "romancing the one you love." The history of intruders puts a slight damper on the overall air of tranquility, but that’s what security systems are for. Asking price is $1.695 million.
