It's Another Ridiculous Spec House Asking $150 Million

Sited on over two acres, the Holmby Hills palace has three pools and parking for 60 cars in all

Los Angeles has no shortage of ultra-high-end houses built on spec, but it would be pretty sad if we allowed ourselves to become immune to these excessively posh mansions and their multiple pools and their huge garages and their general luxuriousness. It would be pretty sad if no one batted a lash at this undoubtedly over-the-top Holmby Hills estate and its crazy-high asking price.

Including the main house and guest houses, there are around 38,000 square feet of living space here—10 bedrooms, a 10-car garage, an indoor lap pool, and a whole "spa level" fit comfortably inside, says the Wall Street Journal. The main residence also holds an entertainment wing, which has a screening room, lounge, and wine cellar, and can be accessed without passing through the main house. The property measures just over two acres and has its own hiking trail as well as two outdoor infinity pools and more parking for up to 50 cars, according to Estately.

The site was once home to an estate owned by Barbra Streisand, but that house was demolished in 2000. The land was sold to a tech mogul who kept it empty and used it as a "private park." (That's a decent park—the lot is just over two acres.) The developer of this marvel, Gala Asher of Dream Properties LA, bought the property in 2014 for $13.25 million. The mansion, which was completed this year, is listed for $150 million.
