Helicopter hoists terrifying new attraction to its new home

Residents of downtown Los Angeles were greeted this morning with foggy skies and the rare sight of a giant glass tube dangling from a helicopter. L.A.'s most terrifying new attraction is one step closer to completion now that the M.Ludvik & Co. designed Skyslide has been hoisted up to its new home on the 69th floor of the U.S. Bank Tower.

OUE Ltd., the Singaporean company that recently purchased the tower, is in the midst of a $50 million renovation, which will include a bar, new observation deck, and of course, the Skyslide. Riders will coast 45 feet from the 70th floor to the 69th floor, encased in glass an inch and a quarter thick. Tickets for the Skyspace are expected to cost $25 per person, with rides on the slide an additional $8 per person. While the company projects a June opening, those giddy with anticipation can keep up with the progress on social media (see photos below).
