Take a Ride on the New Gold Line Extension Opening March 5

On March 5, the Gold Line Foothill Extension will be open to the public, connecting the line's current end point in Pasadena with Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale, and two stations in Azusa—one downtown and one at Azusa Pacific University/Citrus College. (See all the station locations as well as the schedule for the new stops here.)

It seems like only yesterday that the first train crossed the tracks to test this new leg of Gold Line. Now, Metro's doing its final tests on the line to prep for opening day. The agency used one of those test runs today to give some rides to its Board of Directors and some lucky ducks who got to check out the new route firsthand. We've rounded up the best tweets from that ride, along with some peeks inside the brand new rail cars, and a first-person video ride down the whole line.

Watch the trip in this video from Metro (via The Source), which passes through all the stations, from beginning to the new end of the line in Azusa.
