Watch Will Ferrell and Art Celebs Goof Around at the La Brea Tar Pits and Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits kicked off a new video series yesterday with videos from funny man (and part owner of Los Angeles's new soccer team) Will Ferrell and big-name LA artists Mark Bradford and Gary Baseman. The goal of the videos and the campaign is to get people to share their museum adventures on social media platforms with #HowDoYouMuseum, according to the LA Times. "We're looking at the idea of 'museum' as a verb," says the NHM's VP of marketing and communications. These celebs each museum in a pretty unique way.

In the shorts, the three explore the museums that have inspired them. Ferrell, in a tar-splotched lab coat, fields a question from a tar pits visitor, um, creatively. Bradford, who grew up in LA and went to the NHM often as a kid, describes how it was "magic," "mysterious," and "alive." Gary Baseman and a little inflatable creature of his own design sketch and frolic at the tar pits like the cameras aren't even there. It's pretty clear these famous folks have been to these museum sites before, many times, and that they're getting some real enjoyment out of them each time they visit.

If you enjoy the videos, rest easy: these three are just teasers, and a whole slew are coming from fashion designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, author/historian DJ Waldie, and artist/photographer Catherine Opie.
