Facebook may soon be taking up a lot more space in Los Angeles. The company is going to be gobbling up 35,000 square feet at Playa Vista's Playa Jefferson—leaving behind a smaller space at the Campus at Playa Vista to make the move, The Real Deal hears. The space isn't ready for our media overlords quite yet, but they should be in by the summer at the latest. How much are they forking over for all this space in the trendy, *Gensler-designed office complex?

TRD estimates that by the current asking rates, Facebook would be spending about $1.5 million a year to lease their new home base, but "the lease was signed before the new year at a slightly lower rate." Even at those higher rates, they can probably afford it.

Some images of the complex from Playa Jefferson's site give a glimpse at what Facebook's future digs might be like.
