South Park’s skyline is steadily gaining more cranes and a whole lot of new projects—tall ones—are in the pipeline for the neighborhood in the coming years. But one highly anticipated megaproject, Metropolis, is already hitting a major milestone, opening its first of three residential towers.
The development has secured its temporary certificate of occupancy, Greenland USA announced today, meaning buyers can start closing escrow and, very soon, can move into the 38-story tower not far from L.A. Live.
The tower holds 308 luxury condos with studio, and one- and two-bedroom layouts.
As one might imagine, these new-build luxury apartments in South Park come with a hefty price tag. Metropolis reps confirmed studios start at around $600,000. Penthouses are $3 million and up.
This first residential tower is part of the first wave of the Metropolis project. Also set to be complete in this first phase is an 18-story Hotel Indigo, which is expected to open within the first three months of 2017. The Hotel Indigo brand is the boutique arm of the InterContinental Hotels Group, which will also be operating the hotel in the Wilshire Grand.
The second phase of development will include two additional residential towers. The next residential tower is scheduled to be complete in 2018.
