Curbed Cup Finals: (6) Leimert Park vs. (9) San Pedro

New, 10 comments

The finals are here—vote for LA’s neighborhood of the year!

The voters have spoken: Leimert Park and San Pedro are squaring off for Curbed’s prestigious but fake trophy, the Curbed Cup.

The bracket-style contest has drawn thousands of votes, and these two neighborhoods rocketed to the final match-up after edging out stiff competition from communities that included Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Highland Park.

Leimert Park is the center of black arts and culture in Los Angeles. It starred in this year’s breakout HBO hit, Insecure, and is awaiting the arrival of Metro light rail. San Pedro is a working class Harbor community and home to the Ports O’Call, which is buzzing with activity, including a huge, $100 million makeover of 30 acres of waterfront.

Which neighborhood should be crowned the best of 2016? Voting is open until January 2. The winner will be announced the next day.
