In 1905, when this Echo Park bungalow was built, Teddy Roosevelt was president, LA’s streets were filled with horse-drawn carriages, and municipal electricity was still a decade away. The hillside home has seen plenty of changes since then, both inside and out, but still retains vintage flavor.

Built on a sloping 7,722-square-foot lot in Elysian Heights, the two-story cottage has one bedroom and one bath on each level. Features include hardwood floors, a brick fireplace, built-ins, high ceilings, and two decks from which to appreciate the expansive views. Last sold in 2003 for $295,000, it’s now asking $1.198 million.
