Los Angeles Rent Comparison: What $1,350 rents you in Los Angeles right now

Leimert Park, Pasadena, Mid-Wilshire, and more

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. We've found five listings within $100 of today's price: $1,350.

↑ This upper-level one-bedroom apartment in Mid-Wilshire doesn’t list square footage but appears fairly spacious. The kitchen has a modest amount of counter space and plenty of light, thanks to an over-the-sink window. The living room is carpeted, but all the carpet is new, the listing says. The lone bedroom has a large closet. Parking is included here, and pets are allowed, though there are a few restrictions, and a deposit is required. Rent is $1,375.

↑ Located on “tree-lined Degnan Avenue” in Leimert Park, this ground-floor one-bedroom is one of just four units in the building. The interior has a cool, vintage feel thanks to details like wainscoting, retro tile in the kitchen and bathroom, and hardwood floors. Parking is available in a one-car garage onsite for an additional $50 a month. Rent is $1,295.

↑ This 800-square-foot apartment in East Hollywood (technically, Little Armenia) sits on the second floor of the building. The one-bedroom unit has hardwood floors, a walk-in closet, and a balcony. The building comes with a pool and underground parking. Rent is $1,450.

↑ Located within the historic West Adams Terrace neighborhood (just east of West Adams proper), this one-bedroom apartment is advertised as being only 400 square feet. The apartment has a smallish kitchen, carpeted floors, and a couple of closets throughout. Rent is $1,350.

↑ This Pasadena two-bedroom apartment is north of Washington Boulevard (so, pretty far north) but on Lake Avenue, so at least it’s a straight shot to the Metro Gold Line station. The second floor unit has one bathroom, new laminate wood floors, a balcony, and a carport spot. Rent is $1,425.
