Modernized farmhouse on ultra-exclusive La Brea Terrace asking $5M

There’s only about a dozen properties on this gated street in the Hollywood Hills

It’s not every day that a home within the highly coveted enclave of La Brea Terrace becomes available. Secluded in the foothills east of Runyon Canyon, the gated road contains only about a dozen residences, and thanks to its privacy and exclusivity, has long been popular with the showbiz crowd—former residents include Charles Laughton, Diane Keaton, Helen Mirren, and Taylor Hackford—so let’s take a gander at this one while we still can.

Built in 1908, the updated traditional measures 4,273 square feet and has four bedrooms, four baths, formal living and dining rooms, a library, and office. Features include hardwood and tiled floors, multiple fireplaces, French doors, and high-end finishes.

The .53-acre property also boasts a guest house with kitchen, bedroom and bath, an art studio, a two-car garage, a swimming pool, and “an abundance of fruit trees.” Last sold in 2010 for $3.225 million, the compound is now asking $5 million.
