Minimalist 1970s Palos Verdes Estates house maximizes views for $2.3M

Very cool

Built in 1973 but nicely updated by the latest owners, this four-bedroom Palos Verdes Estate house features "original wood craftsman detail throughout" (the walls, ceilings, and floors are wood) that looks completely modern. The house was designed to capitalize on its position on the peninsula by offering lots of views. With the help of "countless" windows, it certainly does. Photos of the home show that, at least from some points in the house, the bright blue Pacific Ocean can easily be seen.

The kitchen is new, and has all the bells and whistles one would expect: new custom cabinets; built-in, high-end refrigerator; a Wolf cooktop stove. The house also gained a new entertainment room, and updates to the bathrooms.

The master bedroom has nearly a full wall of windows and what appears to be very ample closet space. All the bathrooms, but the master bathroom especially, have a sort of Scandinavian sleekness to them.

It’s only the second time this approximately 2,600-square-foot house has been on the market. It’s asking $2.229 million.
