An apartment in a French chateau-style complex and a two-bedroom house are among this week's choices

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. We've found five listings on the Westside within $100 of today's price: $2,700.

↑ This bright Brentwood one-bedroom condo has high ceilings and hardwood floors in the entryway. The condo’s den can be used as a second bedroom, says the listing. Located within "walking distance to all of the upscale, dinning, shopping & entertainment that Brentwood has to offer," the unit rents for $2,650.

↑ This two-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Culver City is about a mile and a half from the Culver City Expo Line station and a few blocks away from the bustling downtown area on Culver Boulevard. Measuring about 1,500 square feet, the house has a nice little yard in front and in back. The kitchen, though roomy, doesn’t look like it’s been updated in a while; the same goes for the bathrooms. There’s space to park and a detached garage, too. Rent is $2,800.

↑ The one-bedroom apartment for rent in this lovely "French Chateau" offers a working fireplace, a formal dining room, and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Located in Carthay (OK, not technically the Westside, but so close!), the upper-front unit features a walk-in closet, "original blue deco tile" in its bathroom, and on-site laundry. Plus, there’s a covered parking spot—true, it’s in a shared garage with one other car, but parking is parking. Rent is $2,750.

↑ Located right on Venice’s Ocean Front Walk, this one-bedroom apartment is on the upper level of a four-unit complex. The compact kitchen has new granite counters and and comes with a fridge. The unit has brand new carpet, and comes with its own deck, on-site laundry, and a parking space. Rent is $2,800.

↑ This two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the border of where the Veterans Administration meets Brentwood is on the upper floor of the building, which has a nice pool. The unit has a host of new features—new counters and appliances in the kitchen, new floors throughout. The approximately 1,050-square-foot unit rents for $2,780.
