A new development with 78 townhomes is in the works for Leimert Park, thanks to developers The Olson Company, a new filing with the city planning department shows. The plans indicate the units will be joined by 176 parking spaces and almost 13,500 square feet of open space.
The project is slated to rise on an industrial-looking property between Exposition Boulevard and Rodeo Road on Exposition Place—about a half-mile from the Expo/Crenshaw station of the Expo Line, which connects Santa Monica to Downtown.
Project rep Dana Sayles says the project will be made up of three-story townhomes with private yards and garages. Sayles said KTGY Group is the architect for the project.
Sayles described the project as aimed at first-time homebuyers, and said that the area hadn’t seen any new-built housing in a long time. That might not be the case for long.
Last year, plans for a proposed retail center at Crenshaw at Rodeo Road were retooled to add 200 housing units.
