Rendering Revealed For Disneyland's Reimagined Waterfront

Disneyland started shutting down attractions and eateries around the Rivers of America this weekend—some temporarily, some permanently—to make way for its huge new Star Wars land, and today they've revealed the future look of the Frontierland waterfront. (Still no look, or even opening date, for the Star Wars section, which will be to the north of the area that appears in this new rendering.) According to the Disney Parks blog, "When these areas reopen, the north bank of the Rivers of America will have a beautiful new waterfront … As you can see from this artist's rendering, courtesy of Walt Disney Imagineering, this gorgeous new riverbank will also feature an elevated trestle over which the iconic Disneyland Railroad will travel."

As part of the Star Wars overhaul, Disneyland is permanently closing Big Thunder Ranch, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo, and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree, and temporarily shuttering the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Disneyland Railroad, the Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, and other attractions on the Rivers of America.
