In 2013, singer/icon Madonna sold this glamorous mansion on Sunset Boulevard to a private equity investor for $19.5 million, but in about a year and a half, it was back on the market with a hefty new $27.995-million pricetag. What was done to it in that time to warrant such an increase? It's never been quite clear if anything was done to it at all, and now that's kind of a moot question, as the place has changed hands for shockingly close to asking price: $27 million.
It's possible nothing at all has changed in the house since it was Madge's place: though the listing says it's been "recently" renovated, similar language has appeared in listings since Madonna first tried to sell the place in 2012. Her listing didn't have photos either, so there's nothing to compare with more recent ones.
But regardless of how much or how little has changed, it's still a pretty fantastic property. The nine-bedroom estate sits on a 1.17-acre lot set back from Sunset. In addition to 15 bathrooms and a pool, there's also a two-story dining room, a "junior" dining room, a full-size screening room, two guesthouses, a tennis court, and two offices and two staff offices. That sale price again was $27 million.
