A couple of weeks ago, we made the acquaintance of a modernized barn loft being offered for lease in Highland Park's Garvanza district. Per the Craigslist notice, the rustic rental was located on a 1.5-acre compound shared with three historic additional residences. Now it appears one of those aforementioned other residences is about to become available, according to a new Craigslist ad that popped up this week. Take it away, posting.

The residence is designed for house lovers looking for a unique, picturesque setting in an Old World environment. The house dates back to 1888 and was carefully restored in 2009. The room count consists of a living room, den, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, entry foyer, two bedrooms, and two baths. The kitchen contains commercial grade appliances positioned in a 1920s butler's style pantry design. According to historian Charles Fisher, who features the house in his Garvanza guidebook, it was originally located on a hillside in Chinatown, but moved to its current location by preservationist owner Brad Chambers, who has restored a number of vintage properties in the neighborhood, including the historic Workmen's Cottages and Donnelly House. Monthly rent for the Avenue 64 residence is $2,950.
