In the pantheon of great escapes—vacation homes, private islands, and lairs of all kinds—the writer's cabin is but a humble workhorse. It's a space apart (from the hustle and bustle of, you know, life) that, when smartly designed provides a welcome place to retreat. This 200-square-foot hilltop writer's studio, on an undisclosed Los Angeles hilltop, is the work of Aaron Neubert Architects, which designed the rectilinear, minimal structure to rest atop the client's home. The goal, reports Designboom, is to provide the writer with a semblance of life-work balance.
