Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas's divorce was almost definitely responsible for them putting their lavish Hancock Park estate up for sale, though it didn't likely have anything to do with the fact that it set a new record for the area's most expensive sale at $15.947 million. With the house sold, says Variety, Griffith has moved on to a $30,000 rental in the Outpost Estates section of the Hollywood Hills that, with its coffered ceilings, arched windows, and plentiful chandeliers, is basically a downsized version of her old elaborate digs.
At 4,725 square feet, the four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom residence is a significant downsize from Griffith's previous Hancock Park home, but it still has all the luxurious trappings one would expect from a place that costs this much and is rented by a celebrity (in-home movie theater, basketball court, fancy appliances). The 1928 mansion is filled with room after room of exposed beams and stone and tile floors, a listing from its most recent sale proclaims. The ample property also has a courtyard with Spanish tile, an outdoor fireplace, and views of Los Angeles from the pool. The most recent rental price listed for the place was $30,000 a month.
