Big Band Leader Benny Goodman's Swank Mansion Hits the Market in Pac Pal Asking $6.2M

This 1928 Pacific Palisades estate is no ordinary handsome coastal mansion. This was once the home of the late, great jazz clarinetist and bandleader Benny Goodman, famous for his contributions to swing music, says the LA Times. The five-bedroom house makes a statement starting with its tall entryway and its winding staircase. High, beamed ceilings, wrought iron details, hardwood and tile floors, and original windows run throughout the Spanish-style residence. The place is also fully wired with a sound system; there are speakers in every room.

The bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms (there's also an extra half bathroom not attached to a bedroom); the master bedroom has heated floors and a walk-in closet. The property also includes a detached guesthouse that's being used as a music studio. Last sold in 2006 for $4.65 million, the house is now asking $6.195 million.
