Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out with five listings within $100 of today's price: $1,950.

↑ This 750-square-foot lofted studio in East Hollywood (right by its borders with Larchmont and Koreatown) has clearly been given a remodel in the recent past. The high ceilings and recessed lighting are nice touches, as are the granite counters and the stainless appliances. There's even central heat and new, energy-efficient, dual-pane windows (that loft's going to get warm otherwise). On-site laundry and gated parking too? Forget renting: marry this apartment! That's actual not legal. Rent is $1,895.

↑ Not too far from the equine-focused Burbank Rancho neighborhood is this nicely remodeled two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in a complex with a spa in the courtyard. The unit has hardwood floors, in-unit laundry, central air-conditioning, a fireplace, and two side-by-side parking spots (none of this tandem parking nonsense). Rent is $2,050.

↑ This studio apartment in Larchmont is actually a "gorgeous Moroccan guest house" that used to be an office. The 530-square-foot apartment comes fully furnished, outfitted with Kohler fixtures and a fancy bathroom. Parking information is absent. Rent is $2,000.

↑ There's no square footage on the listing for this one-bedroom in Palms, but it looks pretty roomy. The kitchen doesn't currently have a fridge, but it does have a dishwasher, which is awesome. The apartment has a small balcony and access to a swimming pool, and there's parking. Rent is $2,050.

↑ This upper-level two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the Hollywood Dell area of the Hollywood Hills comes with reserved parking and on-site laundry. (The photos show a very similar unit to the one for rent.) The stove and fridge are, thankfully, included with the unit, as is a dishwasher. This spot features large closets, "real hardwood floors," and recessed lighting, and the landlords will think about accepting your pet. Rent is $2,050.
