Take a Tour Around the South Bay's Sleek New Shopping Center/Hangout Spot

The Point outdoor shopping center opened yesterday in El Segundo with 30 shops and restaurants in 115,000 square feet, lots of open areas, a little bit of office space, tons of parking, sleek (and eponymous!) design by Architects Orange, and dreams of becoming the South Bay's "living room." Aside from all the shopping and dining, developers Federal Realty Investment Trust plan to put on summer concerts and movie points, and, as the Daily Breeze reports, visitors are already enjoying the plaza, which is outfitted with a big fountain, tons of seating, a foosball table, a firepit, and a lifeguard tower art piece by Portraits of Hope (just like the ones they painted on the actual beach).
