Nosy Hollywood Hills Neighbors Horrified to Spy Sex and Drinking at Weird Airbnb

Some enterprising asshole has set up an empty lot in the middle of the rich Lake Hollywood neighborhood as a "camping retreat" Airbnb and the neighbors, having spied on the place, are very upset. "People buck naked, people doing sex out in open. Drinking … Our own backyard, it's scary. Scared to come out," one "resident and father" tells NBC4. Not literally his own backyard. Someone else's backyard, but still. Drinking. In view of mansions. With families in some of them.

"Who know who's coming up to our neighborhood?" asks one guy who doesn't know his neighborhood does not exist in a secret dimension unlocked only via Airbnb reservation. "I think it's really hard when a lot of us have children and we are driving by and the kids see strange things and ask, 'Why is that going on there?'" says another neighbor, just going ahead and pretty much admitting that she is slowing down to encourage her children to peer onto the hillside property, which is not super visible from the street. (Weirdly enough, no one seems to be complaining about noise. Noise would be such an easy one, people.)

The Airbnb, for its part, sucks. The listing's been taken down, but a cached version says its costs $35 a night, $40 for each extra person, and $225 a week (not like listed Airbnb rates are ever reliable!), and offers "a tent, spectacular views" and a site that's walking distance to the Hollywood Sign. A bathroom costs extra, though: "there is a house next door with bathroom and shower privileges with extra host fees."

The "host" photo for the property is a still-watermarked stock photo of actress Dita de Leon, but the profile is verified. Someone at the adjacent house—the place with the bathrooms—called the cops on NBC4 when they asked for an interview. Neighbors are hoping to have the campsite shut down and are "working to have the city check for any possible zoning violations." No one has yet spoken to any amorous vacationers who got their sex spied on by weird rich people.
