Since hitting the market for the first time ever in 2013 (at a hearty $27.5 million), the fabulous, nearly-three-acre estate of beloved entertainer Bob Hope and his wife Dolores has seen a few price changes, but has always stayed up in the $20-million bracket. It was last listed at $23 million, but this week the property's price has been slashed almost in half, down to just $12 million. Originally designed by Robert Finkelhor and updated in the 1950s by John Elgin Woolf, Hope's long-time home spreads across four parcels of land that he acquired in the decades since moving in in 1939 (when the area was basically rural).
The eight-bedroom, 15,000-square-foot mansion has an indoor pool, a billiard room, enormous patio spaces, and a library. The property also contains a two-bedroom guesthouse, staff housing space, an outdoor pool, a putting green, a one-hole/three-par golf course, and expansive, lush gardens. That price again was $12 million.
