Fab Modern LA House Named After Mockingbird's Scout Finch Asks $1.95M

Location: Los Angeles, California
Price: $1,950,000

Just in time for the release of Go Set a Watchman, Harper Lee's much-anticipated follow-up to her classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird, a Modernist-inspired new-build called the Scout Residence has come on the market in Silver Lake. The 2,087-square-foot dwelling shares an exterior stairway and garden with its "brother," a similar-looking pad named the Jem Residence—and yes, this dapper pair of spec houses completed last year seems to reference Scout and Jem Finch, the brother and sister characters central to Lee's books. Like Jem, which sold in March for $1.8 million, Scout offers more of the same clean lines, huge collapsible glass walls, luxe finishes like Bisazza tiles, and German white-oak flooring, not to mention unobstructed views of LA.
