What $1,500 Rents You in Los Angeles Right Now

The apartment has in-unit laundry, light carpet, and access to the complex's pool and gym. At 630 square feet, it's a lot roomier than some of the newer units in Downtown. Rent is $1,495.

↑ "Think Mad Men with a 70's twist" when considering this first-floor, one-bedroom in Los Feliz. Pergo floors, big windows, and on-site laundry all come with the unit, but parking does not, though the listing assures that there is "lots of Street parking." The U-shaped kitchen is definitely on the cozy side, but at least renters don't have to bring their own stove and fridge. Rent is $1,450.

↑ Just a few blocks away from Huntington Memorial Hospital, this one-bedroom apartment in a smaller-sized complex in Pasadena is close to the Gold Line's Fillmore Station but also has carport parking spots for tenants (just one; don't be greedy). The second-floor dwelling comes with granite counters, wood floors, air conditioning, a roomy balcony, and on-site laundry facilities. No pets are allowed. Rent is $1,550.

↑ Awww, just look at these tiny houses in North Hollywood! One of the 12 units in this complex is up for rent: it's a one-bedroom and it's just been decked out with new travertine tiles, wood floors, and ceiling fans (summer's coming). It also has a dishwasher and air conditioning (early fall is coming). One parking spot is included for tenant parking. Rent is $1,495.

↑ Oh, snap—there is a two-bedroom in the mix. This lower-level unit in East Hollywood brings granite counters, a walk-in closet, a small dining area, and a newly remodeled bathroom to the table. There is also gated, reserved parking and laundry on-site. Rent is $1,595.
