New Girl star and straight-up funny gal Zooey Deschanel may be a ukelele-playing, delightfully offbeat person on and off-screen, but it looks like her taste in houses is deeply traditional. Enter the 5,166-square-foot Manhattan Beach home that the Elf actress just bought with her fiancee. Aptly described by Variety as a "quasi-Cape Cod/Colonial-style" home, the recently built house has never been lived in. Its six bedrooms, massive kitchen, built-in wine storage, and high, coffered ceilings do not exactly seem like something we could picture Deschanel in, but she does still have a vintage cottage in the Hills (probably very zany). Deschanel and her beau paid $4.569 million.
